Ellisville, MS (August 27, 2020) – On Tuesday morning, August 25, a multi-vehicle collision with injuries took place on an Ellisville highway.
According to police, approximately seven vehicles collided with one another in the southbound lanes of I-59 around 7:30 a.m. Two of the vehicles were off the side of the road with horrific damages. The accident was deemed a chain-reaction crash, though police do not know what circumstances led up to the crash.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene of the accident where they assisted those in need. Multiple people were transported to a nearby hospital to be treated for their injuries.
The northbound lanes of traffic were closed down in the area for an extended period of time. Police were able to clear the roadway.
Mississippi Highway Patrol continues its investigation into the accident at this time.
