Gulfport, MS (August 25, 2020) – Early this morning, a car accident took place on a major highway in Gulfport that led to injuries.
Harrison County officials were immediately dispatched to the scene of the accident around 7:48 a.m. While there, they found that multiple vehicles collided on I-10 before the US-49 area going into Hattiesburg. The accident led to extensive damages to the vehicles involved.
Paramedics, fire crews, and other responders were dispatched to the scene of the accident where they assisted those with injuries. The injured victims were taken to the hospital for treatment, though their conditions are not entirely known at this time.
Two westbound left lanes of traffic were entirely blocked as a result of the collision. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.
No further details have been released. The investigation continues at this time.
