Hattiesburg, MS (August 20, 2020) – Around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday night, August 18, one person was killed and others were injured in a Hattiesburg fatal crash.
Highway Patrol officials were immediately called to the scene where they discovered that two vehicles collided at the intersection of US-98 and Cole Road. Through initial investigations, they found that Bryce Mitchell was driving his Nissan passenger vehicle and made a left turn onto Cole Road. A Nissan SUV, driven by Ashia Smith, crashed into the side of the passenger vehicle.
Mitchell was not injured as a result of the crash. However, his passenger identified as 22-year-old Jackson Weaver was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
Smith and her passenger, Angela Adams, were both injured as a result of the collision and taken to the hospital.
The investigation into the accident is currently ongoing.
