Iuka, MS (August 16, 2020) – On Saturday, August 15, a woman was killed in a fatal two-vehicle collision that took place on an Iuka highway.
According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the collision took place between two vehicles and claimed the life of a woman in her 20s. Police confirmed that the accident happened on MS-172 around the area of MS-25 when two vehicles collided head-on.
The victim, identified as 28-year-old Brittany Jackson, was traveling east when a vehicle traveling west entered her lane and struck her vehicle head-on.
Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The driver of the other vehicle only had moderate injuries.
The roadway was closed for a period of time following the accident due to the severity of the collision.
No further details have been released but the investigation is currently ongoing.
