Jackson, MS (August 18, 2020) – Yesterday morning, August 17, a box truck accident with injuries took place on a highway in Jackson, Mississippi.
According to authorities, the collision happened around 11:15 a.m. when a maroon passenger vehicle traveling on US-49 was rear-ended by a box truck.
The vehicle burst into flames as a result of the collision. By the time fire crews were able to put out the fire, the back of the vehicle was completely burned.
The driver of the passenger vehicle, who has not yet been identified, was the only person injured as a result of the accident. They were taken to the hospital for treatment but they are expected to recover.
Traffic was impacted in the area for an extended period of time due to the fact that power lines fell on the road.
No further details have been provided but the investigation continues.
