Vicksburg, MS (August 26, 2020) – Around 5:30 p.m. this evening, a three-vehicle accident with injuries took place on a highway in Vicksburg.
According to the Delta Marshal’s Office, the accident took place on the I-20 bridge, also known as the Mississippi River Bridge. Police did not comment on the circumstances leading up to the accident. However, two vehicles were seen with extensive front-end damage and had to be towed from the scene.
Numerous responders including paramedics and fire crews were dispatched to assist at the scene of the accident. Only one person was injured as a result of the accident. They were transported to the hospital to be treated, though the extent of their injuries is not yet known.
Traffic was delayed on the bridge in the area until approximately 6:30 p.m.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident remains ongoing.
