Clarksdale, MS – Four Killed in Fatal Crash at MS-161 and MS-61

Clarksdale, MS (December 23, 2020) – Around 6 p.m. on Friday evening, four people were killed in a fatal crash at a Clarksdale intersection.

According to the Clarksdale Police Department, a Delta Bus Lines bus and a Pontiac Grand Am became involved in the crash with one another. It is believed that they entered the intersection at the same time, though the full circumstances of the accident are not yet known.

The driver of the Pontiac, as well as the three passengers in the vehicle, were all pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. They have since been identified as 52-year-old Thamatha Lester, 34-year-old Trayveon Jamison, 30-year-old Vantheiso Williams, and 28-year-old Dietiurs Burns.

The passengers on the bus were identified as FedEx workers but all of their injuries were minor. The bus driver was also treated for minor injuries.

Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the collision.
