Picayune, MS (November 17, 2020) – Around 7 a.m. on November 14, a fatal pedestrian accident took place in Picayune.
According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the accident took place at the intersection of MS-43 and Burnt Bridge Road. Three pedestrians were walking in the area when they were suddenly struck by a passenger vehicle due to reasons that are not yet known.
Two of the juveniles were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The victims who died in the collision were reported as a 17-year-old and a 13-year-old, both male. Their causes of death were blunt force trauma. A third juvenile, who has not yet been identified, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for an extended period of time.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
