Tupelo, MS (November 3, 2020) – On Tuesday afternoon, November 3, a worker was killed in a workplace accident in Tupelo.
According to the Lee County Coroner’s Office, the accident took place at the Cooper Tire facility. An employee was doing contracting work at the facility when, for unknown reasons, they were seriously injured at the facility.
Paramedics immediately transported the unidentified victim to the hospital where they were tragically pronounced deceased. No other workers were injured as a result of the accident. Police confirmed that the worker was killed due to multiple trauma.
The investigation thus far has revealed that there is no risk to the workforce at the plant at this time. However, the investigation is currently ongoing.
