Oxford, MS (October 5, 2020) – Around 7:20 p.m. on Monday evening, October 5, a car accident with injuries took place in Oxford.
The accident, according to the Oxford Police Department, took place at 160 Commodore Dr. in front of the LaFayette High School. Police confirmed that at least two vehicles collided in the area but they have not verified the circumstances leading up to the accident. The vehicles involved were badly damaged as a result of the accident.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were present at the scene of the accident to help those with injuries. The injured victims have not yet been identified but one or more were taken to the hospital for treatment.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for an extended period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation into the accident continues.
