Oxford, MS – Car Accident with Injuries on S Lamar Blvd

Oxford, MS (October 7, 2020) – Around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening, October 6, a car accident with injuries took place on a major roadway in Oxford.

According to the Oxford Police Department, the accident took place around the area of Hooper Hollow on 2743 South Lamar Boulevard. The accident allegedly occurred when a vehicle struck another in the area for reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved were badly damaged as a result of the accident.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were present at the scene of the accident and assisted those with injuries. Though the identities of those involved are not yet known, the injured victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Their current conditions are unknown.

The roadway was closed down in multiple lanes in the area until the police were able to clear the scene.

No further details have been released. The investigation continues.
