De Kalb, MS (September 6, 2020) – Around 6:55 a.m. yesterday morning, September 5, one person was killed in a fatal accident in De Kalb.
According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the accident involved two vehicles and took place on MS-39. Police confirmed that a 2006 Chevy was traveling south on the highway when a Jeep Wrangler collided with the vehicle. Police claim that the two vehicles collided head-on for reasons that are not yet known.
The driver of the Chevy was identified as 35-year-old Janan Rush, who was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The driver of the Jeep was identified as 27-year-old Braxton Wille, who was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
The roadway was blocked in multiple lanes as police worked to clear the scene.
Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
