Carthage, MS – Will Yates Injured in Pedestrian Accident on MS-35

Carthage, MS (April 1, 2021) – Around 6 a.m. on Sunday morning, March 28, a man was injured in a pedestrian accident on a highway in Carthage.

According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the accident happened on MS-35. At the time, a 34-year-old Department of Transportation employee was clearing a tree off of the road when he was struck by a Ford F-150 driven by 63-year-old Bruce Denson.

Paramedics were present at the scene. Yates suffered from life-threatening injuries and was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries.

Denson remained at the scene and did not have injuries.

The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.

No further details have been released. The investigation remains ongoing.
