Oxford, MS (August 18, 2021) – At 9:55 a.m. on the morning of Wednesday, August 18, a car accident with injuries occurred on a major roadway in Oxford.
According to the Oxford Police Department, the accident happened at 1901 Jackson Avenue in the area of Maxx South. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the westbound lanes of traffic when they collided with each other in the area. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged and had to be towed from the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. One or more victims were hurt as a result of the accident. The injured victims, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals for treatment.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
