Oxford, MS (August 22, 2021) – At 6:35 p.m. on the evening of Sunday, August 22, a car accident occurred on a roadway in Oxford.
According to the Oxford Police Department, the accident happened at 300 Merchants Drive around the area of Dick’s Sporting Goods. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they suddenly collided due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation into the accident continues.
