Oxford, MS (August 7, 2021) – At 12:38 p.m. on the afternoon of Friday, August 6, a multi-car accident took place on a major roadway in Oxford.
According to the Oxford Police Department, the accident happened in the westbound lanes of MS-6. Multiple vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged as a result of the accident.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other local responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment, though their conditions are not yet known.
The area was blocked for a period of time as police worked to clear the scene. Police urged those traveling through to avoid the area.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing at this time.
