Starkville, MS (August 31, 2021) – At 8:45 a.m. on the morning of Tuesday, August 31, a car accident with injuries occurred at an intersection in Starkville.
According to Starkville Police officers, the accident happened at the intersection of Stark Road and G.T. Thames Drive. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they allegedly entered the intersection, forcefully colliding. It is believed that the accident happened on wet roads. The accident led to extensive damages to the involved vehicles.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those with injuries. One or more victims, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries. Their conditions are not known at this time.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time as police cleared the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
