Starkville, MS - Fatal Plane Accident Near Camps Airport Rd

Starkville, MS (August 5, 2021) – On Wednesday, August 4, a fatal plane accident occurred near a roadway in Starkville.

According to Oktibbeha County officials, the accident happened near the area of Camps Airport Road when a plane went down. The accident happened around 9 a.m. in the morning and led to severe damages.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. An adult male and his grandson, identified as a male 8th grader, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The area was blocked for an extended period of time as police cleared the scene.
