Oxford, MS (December 7, 2021) – At 5:45 p.m. on the evening of Tuesday, December 7, a car accident with injuries occurred on a roadway in Oxford.
According to Oxford Police, the accident happened at 2528 Jackson Avenue. Two vehicles collided with each other in the westbound lanes around the area of Murphy Oil due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged and had to be towed from the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were injured as a result of the accident. The injured victims were hospitalized with injuries, though their conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident until police fully cleared the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
