Oxford, MS (December 30, 2021) – The Oxford Police Department reported that a car accident with injuries occurred at 2:35 p.m. on the afternoon of Thursday, December 30.
According to officials, the accident happened in the afternoon hours at 1039 Booker Road. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when one or more lost control. The vehicles collided with each other forcefully. Due to the severity of the accident, the vehicles were extensively damaged and had to be towed from the scene.
Numerous responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were called to the scene to help those in need. Several victims sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
The roadway was blocked in the area for several hours as police worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
