Moselle, MS (February 26, 2021) – Around 6:48 a.m. on Thursday morning, February 25, a woman was killed in an accident in Moselle. The crash happened between a school bus and a log truck.
According to Jones County officials, the accident happened at the intersection of MS-590 and River Road. The school bus involved in the crash attempted to cross over the highway to continue headed south but struck the log truck.
Fire crews immediately responded where they discovered an adult driving the log truck and an adult driver in the bus. There were no students on board at the time.
The log truck driver was identified as 55-year-old Dana White, who was tragically pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The bus driver, identified as 63-year-old Dinah Williamson, was extricated and taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Investigators have found that the bus driver was on her way to begin her route when the accident took place. She remains in the hospital at this time.
Mississippi Highway Patrol officials continue their investigation into the accident.
