Byhalia, MS (July 25, 2021) – At 5:22 p.m. on the evening of Saturday, July 24, a car accident with injuries occurred on a highway in Byhalia.
According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the collision happened on I-269 around the area of exit 5, Laughter Road. The accident took place when two or more vehicles collided on the highway in the area, which led to extensive damages to the involved vehicles. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged and left debris all over the roadway.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were hospitalized with injuries, though their conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in multiple lanes. This led to delays until police were able to clear the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
