Columbus, MS (July 28, 2021) – Around 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 27, a two-vehicle collision with injuries occurred in Columbus.
According to Columbus Police, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of MS-69 around the area of the Columbus Fairgrounds and the local railroad tracks. The crash took place between a Ford Focus and a Toyota. The vehicles involved in the accident were heavily damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other local responders were immediately called to the scene. One person was rushed to Baptist Golden Triangle and another was treated at the scene for injuries.
Due to the severity of the crash, both lanes of traffic were blocked for an hour as police worked to clear the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
