Gautier, MS (July 11, 2021) – At 5 a.m. on the morning of Friday, July 9, a man was killed in a bicycle crash at an intersection in Gautier.
According to Gautier Police, the accident happened at the intersection of US-90 and Suter Road. The man, identified as 51-year-old Charles George, was riding his bicycle and trying to cross the intersection when a vehicle struck him. The driver who struck the bicyclist remained at the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. Charles George was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. The driver of the vehicle was not hurt.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for several hours as police cleared the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
