New Albany, MS (July 19, 2021) – At 12:25 p.m. on the afternoon of Monday, July 19, a multi-vehicle collision occurred in New Albany.
According to police, the accident happened in the westbound lanes of I-22 around the area of exit 73B. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result of the crash.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries, though their conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in several lanes for a period of time as police cleared the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
