Oxford, MS – Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident on Molly Barr Rd

Oxford, MS (July 27, 2021) – On Sunday, July 25, a hit-and-run pedestrian accident occurred on a roadway in Oxford that led to injuries.

According to the Oxford Police Department, the accident happened on Molly Barr Road following a domestic violence incident. A pedestrian was struck by a passenger vehicle that fled the scene in the area.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. The pedestrian, who has not yet been identified, was taken to the hospital with injuries but is expected to recover.

Police have since arrested the party responsible for the accident. The suspect was identified as 26-year-old Laquandra Dye, who was charged with aggravated assault and leaving the scene of an accident.

The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.
