Hernando, MS (June 30, 2021) – At 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, June 30, a four-vehicle crash with injuries occurred in Hernando.
According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of I-55 near both Commerce Street and the local rest area. Four vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the collision were badly damaged.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
Southbound lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for an extended period of time, which led to extensive delays.
