Vicksburg, MS (June 28, 2021) – At 10 p.m. on Sunday, June 28, a child was struck in a pedestrian accident on a roadway in Vicksburg.
According to Vicksburg Police, the accident happened on Iowa Boulevard around Highway 61 in front of the local McDonald’s restaurant. A 12-year-old boy from Florida was walking in the area when he was suddenly struck by a vehicle.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene. The boy, who suffered from various injuries, was taken to a local hospital for treatment. He is expected to fully recover.
The vehicle that struck the boy remained at the scene. It was being operated by a Warren County couple.
The roadway was blocked in the area for a short period of time.
Police continue their investigation into the collision.
