Houston, MS (May 9, 2021) – One person died and two others sustained serious injuries following a two-vehicle crash that occurred on the Mississippi 8 on Thursday, May 6, according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
Around 11:00 a.m., troopers responded to a two-car crash on Miss. 8 at Route 53 in Chickasaw County. They say that a 2008 Red Lincoln MKX, whose driver was identified as 27-year-old Deiaddra Tasha Doss, was eastbound on Miss. 8 when the front of their vehicle collided with the driver side door of a 2010 green Toyota Camry driven by a 17-year-old minor as she was attempting to turn from County Road 53.
Deiaddra Doss and her passenger, 23-year-old Quantaebeis Hatchett, were both transported by ambulance to North Mississippi Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries. Their current conditions are unknown.
The minor was airlifted to North Mississippi Medical Center but was later pronounced dead.
This accident is still under investigation, per a statement released by Troop G Public Information Officer Staff Sgt. Derrick Beckhom.
