Oxford, MS (November 27, 2021) – On Thursday night, November 25, three people were killed in a fatal car accident in Oxford.

According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the accident happened on MS-6 in the eastbound lanes of traffic. Police confirmed that 52-year-old Jacquette Davis was headed the wrong way on the highway when the vehicle suddenly crashed into a vehicle being driven by 23-year-old Halie Tanner around the Pontotoc County line. The vehicles were extensively damaged as a result of the collision.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. A total of three people were pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. It is not known if anyone was injured in the collision.

Due to the severity of the collision, the roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.

No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
