Iuka, MS (September 21, 2021) – At 8:47 p.m. on Monday night, September 20, a teen was killed in a fatal car accident in Iuka.

According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the accident happened on MS-365. Two SUVs were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to unknown reasons. Police claim that one vehicle was traveling north and the other was traveling south at the time. The vehicles sustained severe damages in the accident.

Paramedics and numerous other local responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. A 13-year-old passenger from inside one of the SUVs was badly injured and taken to a local hospital. He was pronounced dead there due to traumatic injuries.

The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for a period of time as police worked to clear the scene.

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
