Oxford, MS (September 2, 2021) – At 4:15 p.m. on the afternoon of Thursday, September 2, a car accident with injuries occurred on a roadway in Oxford.
According to the Oxford Police Department, the accident happened at 601 Commerce Drive in front of the Coleman Funeral Home. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they became involved in a collision with one another. The vehicles involved in the accident sustained heavy damages and had to be towed from the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were injured as a result of the accident. The injured victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries. Their conditions are not known at this time.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for some time as police cleared the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
