Oxford, MS (April 3, 2022) – Around 4:36 p.m. on the afternoon of Sunday, April 3, a car accident with injuries took place on a roadway in Oxford.
According to Oxford Police, the accident happened at 901 Merchants Drive in front of the local Home Goods store. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when one or more lost control, causing the vehicles to collide forcefully with one another. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged as a result.
Several local responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were hurt as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment, though their identities and conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the accident, a large portion of the roadway was blocked for some time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
