Oxford, MS (April 14, 2022) – Injuries stemmed from a serious car accident that took place on a roadway in Oxford on Thursday afternoon, April 14. 

According to Oxford Police Department officials, the accident happened at 3 p.m. on University Avenue in front of the local Sonic. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when one or more lost control, causing the vehicles to collide forcefully with one another. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged and had to be towed from the scene. 

Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were hurt as a result of the collision. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment, though their identities and conditions are not known at this time. 

The roadway was blocked in several lanes in the area for some time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene. 

No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
