Columbus, MS (August 1, 2022) – A car accident happened in the early morning hours of July 29 in Columbus. The incident happened at approximately 5:45 a.m., reports said.
Officials stated the crash took place on Shannon Avenue near Lehmberg Road. One vehicle overturned after striking another, sources said.
What led to the accident has not been reported. First responders arrived at the scene to find Willie Jennings, 55, in need of extrication from his vehicle. When he was removed from the car, they discovered that he had a gunshot wound.
Investigators with the Columbus Police Department are working on the case.
