Oxford, MS (February 15, 2022) – Police reported injuries in a car crash that took place on a roadway in Oxford on Monday evening, February 14.
Oxford Police confirmed that the collision happened at 7 p.m. at 401 McElroy Drive in front of the local post office. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not fully known. It is believed that one of the vehicles lost control, leading to the collision. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged as a result.
Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were called to the scene to help those with injuries. One or more victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries. Their conditions are not known at this time.
The roadway was blocked in front of the post office for some time as police worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the accident remains ongoing.
