Pearl, MS (February 23, 2022) – Around 4 a.m. on Tuesday morning, February 22, a woman was killed in a fatal house fire in Pearl.
According to officials, the fire broke out in a residence on Monica Lane. When fire crews received the call in the early morning hours, they quickly arrived at the home to find that it was engulfed in flames and smoke. They had trouble accessing the inside of the home but discovered that there was one person left inside.
Paramedics and numerous other local responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One person inside the home, identified as an adult woman who was wheelchair-bound, was tragically pronounced dead due to injuries caused by the fire. Nobody else was hurt in the accident.
The area was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues. Police will update as more information is available.
