Anguilla, MS (January 23, 2022) – An automobile accident reported in Sharkey County left an unknown number of people with injuries.
At around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, emergency crews were notified that their assistance was needed on-site at a crash on U.S. Highway 61 at Mississippi State Route 14.
Reports from local authorities show that a vehicle collision blocked all lanes in both directions of the roadway, preventing thru-traffic. EMS rendered aid to victims on-site as firefighters and police worked to clear the roadway and allow thru-traffic.
An unknown number of people were transported to local hospitals for further care.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
Our thoughts are with the victims who were injured in this accident. We hope for their full recovery.
