Crystal Springs, MS (January 19, 2022) – On Tuesday night, January 18, a fatal car crash took place at an intersection in Crystal Springs.
Copiah County officials confirmed that the accident happened at the intersection of MS-27 and Shiloh Run Drive. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they entered the intersection at the same time, forcefully colliding with each other. The involved vehicles were left with heavy damages as a result.
Paramedics and numerous other responders, including local fire crews, were called to the scene to help those in need. One person, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. It is not known if anyone else was hurt in the accident.
The roadway was blocked in both directions at the intersection for two hours as police worked to clear the scene.
Mississippi Highway Patrol officials continue their investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
