Hattiesburg, MS (January 23, 2022) – In the evening hours of Friday, January 21, a two-vehicle accident with injuries occurred in Hattiesburg.
Lamar County officials confirmed that the accident happened on I-59 around the area of Exit 65 and Hardy Street. Two vehicles were traveling in the northbound lanes of traffic when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known.
Following the forceful collision, both vehicles left the road and were extensively damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other local responders were called to assist those with injuries. One or more victims sustained injuries in the accident. Their injuries were considered minor and it is not known who was hospitalized as a result.
Hattiesburg Police Department officials continue their investigation into the circumstances of the accident at this time.
