Brookhaven, MS (July 14, 2022) – A woman was transported by helicopter to a hospital after she was critically injured in a car wreck in Brookhaven. The incident occurred on Tuesday, July 12.

According to information from local officials, the accident took place on MS-583 near Shell Oil Lane at approximately 2:50 p.m. Reports indicate that Patricia Douglass, 75, was riding in a golf cart when she got onto the MS-583 highway using the shoulder.

Douglass was then struck by a 2011 Honda Odyssey driven by David Williamson, 77, of Bogue Chitto. The collision occurred near Shell Oil Lane on MS-583. Douglass was transported to King’s Daughters Medical Center for treatment. From there, she was airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Her current condition has not been reported at this time.

Few other details have been reported concerning the nature of the accident.
