Passenger Injuries in Mississippi Car Accidents
Passengers are in an unusual situation when it comes to being involved in a Mississippi car accident. An injured passenger is seldom liable for the crash, however, this does not protect them from being seriously injured during the impact.
Passengers are exposed to the same dangers that cause the same injuries as drivers, including spinal cord damage, brain injuries, and fractured bones. No matter what caused the incident, it is likely that a person other than the injured passenger is responsible.
Car insurance coverage is required of all Mississippi drivers. If a passenger is involved in an injury accident, this coverage is what will pay for any losses the passenger endured.
Often, bringing a claim against the insurer only yields a settlement offer that is so inadequate, that it will not even cover the victim’s necessary medical bills. Anytime an insurance company makes you an offer, it should be reviewed by a practiced Mississippi personal injury lawyer before being accepted.
