Mississippi Auto Crashes

Oxford, MS - Injuries Result from Car Accident on Courthouse Sq

Car wrecks happen over 125,000 times per year in Mississippi. Over 55,000 people suffer injuries in these crashes yearly, and over 1,000 people lose their lives.

Auto wrecks have become a serious problem in the United States, happening millions of times per year and taking the lives of tens of thousands of people annually. Alarmingly, negligent driving is the leading cause of car wrecks throughout the United States. Be it speeding, driver intoxication, fatigue, distraction, or a poorly maintained vehicle, driver error/negligence causes more car crashes than anything else.

When you or a loved one of yours has been injured by a negligent driver, you may be feeling overwhelmed and frustrated. An auto accident attorney in Oxford can assist you in recovering financial compensation depending on the details of your accident. If you’re able to prove that another person was fully or partially at fault for your wreck, you’re most likely eligible to collect compensation to help pay for the costs related to your wreck.

A lawyer will work alongside you and make sure that you're able to recover financially, physically, and mentally after being hurt in an auto crash.

Unfortunately, auto wrecks have become such a serious issue in the United States mostly due to the actions of negligent motorists. Information provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Association shows that about 96% of vehicle wrecks are the result of driver negligence. Driver negligence is defined as any activity that takes a driver’s attention away from the roadway when they’re operating a vehicle.

If you or your family member was hurt in a car wreck caused by another driver, contacting an attorney is in your best interest. Negligent driving is breaking the law, and those who choose to disobey the law, especially when innocent lives are put at risk, need to be held accountable for their actions. Negligent driving is punishable by hefty fines and, depending on the circumstances, jail time.

The injured victims of negligent drivers are eligible to collect financial compensation for their damages. However, if they attempt to collect this compensation without the help of an attorney, they may get short-changed. A skilled car accident lawyer in Oxford will be able to help you get the maximum compensation available for your injuries and losses.
