Oxford, MS (March 31, 2022) – Injuries stemmed from a car accident that took place on a roadway in Oxford on Thursday evening, March 31.
According to Oxford Police, the accident happened around 5:57 p.m. at 1936 University Avenue in front of the local Cashsavers. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when one or more lost control, causing the vehicles to collide forcefully with one another. The involved vehicles sustained severe damage and had to be towed from the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other local responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were hurt as a result of the collision. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment, though their conditions are not known at this time.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in front of the store for some time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene so traffic could resume as normal.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
