Olive Branch, MS (May 2, 2022) – A man was killed in a fatal workplace accident at a FedEx facility in Olive Branch on Sunday morning, May 1.
According to Olive Branch Police, the accident happened around 5:15 a.m. at the FedEx Ground facility on 7480 Nail Road. Police received initial reports that there was an unresponsive subject at the facility. When they arrived at the scene, they found a male who was involved in a workplace accident. They did not comment on the exact circumstances of the accident.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were immediately called to the scene to help those in need. The employee, identified as 48-year-old James Smith, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. It was alleged that he was found by maintenance personnel after the accident.
The area was temporarily blocked off at the facility for an extended period of time following the accident.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
