Oxford, MS (May 16, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a serious car accident that took place on a roadway in Oxford on Monday evening, May 16.
According to Oxford officials, the accident happened around 6:45 p.m. at 913 South 18th Street around the area of Oxford Wheel Estates. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. The involved vehicles were badly damaged and had to be towed from the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were hurt as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment, though their conditions are not known at this time.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for some time as police worked to clear the scene. Traffic returned to normal within the hour.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
