Philadelphia, MS (May 5, 2022) – Injuries resulted in a car accident that happened on a major roadway in Philadelphia, Mississippi on Wednesday morning, May 4. 

Neshoba deputies responded to the scene of the accident around 7:27 a.m., which happened on MS-19 around the area of MS-185. Two vehicles were traveling in the northbound lanes of the highway when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not entirely known. The vehicles involved in the crash sustained heavy damage and had to be towed away. 

Several local responders, including Philadelphia medics and fire crews, were called to the scene. One person was seriously injured as a result of the collision. The injured victim was rushed to the hospital for treatment of their injuries. 

The roadway was blocked in several northbound lanes of traffic until police were able to fully clear the scene. 

Neshoba Police continue their investigation into the circumstances leading up to the accident.
