Hattiesburg, MS – Three-Car Crash Takes One life on SR-42

Hattiesburg, MS (November 17, 2022) – A passenger was killed in a three-car crash in Lamar County on Wednesday night, November 16. The incident occurred on SR-42 at approximately 5:37 p.m. 

According to information provided by the Mississippi Highway Patrol, a 57-year-old Laurel resident was driving a Toyota Sienna west on MS-42 when it was involved in a crash with a 2002 Ford Explorer. 

The Explorer was headed west on the highway and driven by a Petal resident, age 25. The Sienna also collided with a 2011 Nissan Altima driven by a Columbia resident, age 45. 

Information provided by the Lamar County Coroner reveals that Regina Lynn Higgins, age 41, of Magee, was fatally injured in the accident. Reports show that she was a passenger in the Sienna.
