Jackson, MS (November 29, 2022) – A fatal traffic crash took the life of a 10-year-old boy in Clarke County. The incident was reported to officials in the area just before 9:00 a.m. on November 27.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to the scene, located on Interstate 59. Paramedics and other responders were also sent to the wreck site to render aid.
According to information from local reports, a 2006 Hummer H2 operated by Jeremy Williams, age 49, of Antioch, TN, was headed north on the interstate when the vehicle left the roadway and overturned.
After overturning, the car crashed into a tree. A passenger, identified as a 10-year-old boy, lost his life in the accident. He was pronounced deceased on-site by EMS. Williams was transported to UMMC in Jackson, MS, with severe injuries.
Authorities continue to investigate the details of the accident.
