Ocean Springs, MS (November 14, 2022) – A woman lost her life and a man was airlifted after a fiery one-car collision in Ocean Springs. Jackson County police identified the woman as Christina Osborne, 41, of Vancleave.
Police officers responded to the scene of the wreck at around 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 12. Reports indicate that the accident happened in the 7000 block of Old Fort Bayou Road.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as 34-year-old Michael Grimes. He reportedly struck a guard rail before crashing into a ditch. The car then caught fire.
A witness pulled Grimes from his burning vehicle, however, a female passenger present in the vehicle was unable to be saved due to the intensity of the flames. Grimes was transported to Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula with injuries of an unknown magnitude.
Grimes was then airlifted to the University of South Alabama Medical Center in Mobile. Police contniue to investigate the details of the accident.
